The east side of the county is different ground from the west, and it is worth knowing why. Rural properties out here also tend to have room for the deck to be the right size rather than the size the yard allows. That is an advantage worth using deliberately: a covered section for the table, an open section for the sun, and stairs placed where people walk rather than at the nearest corner.
